On Sunday night, October 3rd, Professor Muhammad Yunus made his animation debut on FOX’s The Simpsons. In the episode, Professor Yunus – 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of Grameen Bank – teaches Lisa Simpson about the power of microfinance to lift poor people out of poverty. Off screen, Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa, is a Grameen Foundation supporter who has witnessed the Grameen Foundation’s work in Haiti.
