Chris Anderson (Wired‘s Editor-in-Chief) was in town last week to launch his new book FREE:The Future of a Radical Price. HBE was there selling the not so free version of the book at Google DC and at the Motley Fool HQ in Alexandria. As you might have heard or read, the book has stirred some controversy around the use of Wikipedia material and more importantly around the overall premise of the book as seen in Malcolm Gladwell’s review in the New Yorker (www.newyorker.com)( HBE highly recommends your checking out Malcolm’s review!) As booksellers we like the controversy which we hope will boost sales. Yes, you can download the material on line for “free” but if you get sucked into Chris’ “freemium” concept and you want to buy the book, please do so from a good independent store near you. PPH
